Noordwijk aan Zee. (Walk tour app. 12,5km 2,5-3 hours. As a biketour ca. 1 hour)
Along the Vuurtorenplein (Lighthouse Plaza) and the Bosweg we’ll go directly to the dune path. Up and down in between the grey-green plants that are very characteristic for the Dutch dunes. At the viewpoint you’ll have a wonderful outlook across the whole dune’s width. Wanderdunes go about their business and amaze the wanderer over and over again. Rabbits, pheasants, fox and deer are off in a flash at only the slightest noise.
In a wide curve we’ll come down to the lower part of the dunes. At the verge of the flower fields and in lee of the dunes even leaved trees grow. In between flower and vegetable fields we’ll go towards the residential areas. On the edge of the dunes houses of many different styles and construction years are situated, beginning in the twenties of the last century up very modern buildings and including Hotels and Villas.
Through quiet alleys we’ll continue towards “De Zuid”. This is an exclusive residential area where the Heineken family as well as other well known people out of politics, sports and economy have their residencies.
The path weaves through foliage and electronically protected “castles”.
Next to modern as well as old hotels and apartments we proceed to the Grand Hotel “Huis ter Duin”, well known through the visit of the Dutch National soccer team and many important conferences and congresses.
Via the street “De Grent”, where most of the night clubs can be found we approach the last part of our tour, the Boulevard (promenade), with its many restaurants and end our tour where we began.
